Sharjah: Siddique Kathim, who lost his eyesight due to diabetes, returned home after a legal battle. Free legal assistance from Ali Ibrahim Advocates in Sharjah helped Siddique, a native of Karode, Thiruvananthapuram.Siddique had been working as a salesman at Wadi Al Zaytoon Supermarket in Sharjah for two years.In the meantime, he lost the sight in his left eye due to diabetes. He wrote a letter to the company authorities stating that he should cancel his visa and return home for further treatment and due to his inability to work.However, the company was not ready to cancel the visa. Siddique then approached the Ministry of Labor.The employer informed the Ministry of Labor that Siddique had embezzled money through telephone card sales and other means and that the visa would not be canceled until this amount was returned.Then he approached Ali Ibrahim Advocates in Sharjah. Adv. K. S. Arun, Adv. Ramya Aravind, Adv. Rashmi R. Murali, Adv. Jasmine Shameer, and legal representative Vinod Kumar were preparing the necessary assistance to cancel the visa through the free legal aid program under the leadership of legal representative Salam Pappinissery.The team of lawyers at Ali Ibrahim Advocates convinced the Ministry of Labor that Siddique, who was a salesman at the supermarket, had no connection with the money laundering department of the institution and that this was a false story made up by the institution owner to send him back home with benefits. Subsequently, Siddique was sent back home with employment benefits as per the instructions of the Ministry of Labor.
