ABU DHABI: The court has ordered a compensation of AED 80,000 (approximately PKR 6.1 million) to Ajmal Ali, a Pakistani national who was seriously injured in a road accident. The favorable verdict came through the legal intervention of Salam Pappinissery, CEO of the prominent legal services firm, YAB Legal Services.

The Incident: The accident occurred on the four-lane highway past the Al Khazna bridge, en route from Abu Dhabi to Al Ain. The driver, due to lack of attention, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with an iron barrier and overturn multiple times. Ajmal Ali was a passenger in the vehicle at the time.

He sustained serious injuries to his chest, hip, and ankle, and was admitted to Tawam Hospital in Al Ain. The driver responsible for the accident, an Indian national, was subsequently fined AED 5,000 by the court as part of the criminal proceedings.

Legal Action: Following the accident, Ajmal Ali's relatives approached Salam Pappinissery to seek compensation. Taking up the case, Salam Pappinissery’s team registered a claim with the Insurance Compensation Court against the insurance company of the at-fault vehicle. He submitted all necessary documentation, including forensic and criminal case reports.

Following the legal procedures, the Insurance Dispute Resolution Court eventually ruled in favour of the plaintiff, instructing the insurance company to pay Ajmal Ali AED 80,000 in compensation.
