Sharjah Accident: Rizwan Ahmed Awarded PKR 1.85 Million in Compensation

Sharjah: A Pakistani national, Rizwan Ahmed Muhammed Ramzan, who sustained injuries in a traffic accident involving a car and a motorcycle in Sharjah's Al Khan area (Al Khalidiyah Street), has been awarded 24,000 dirhams (approximately 1.85 million Pakistani Rupees) in compensation. The court ruled that the insurance company of the motorcycle driven by Rizwan is liable to pay this amount.
The accident occurred on Sunday, January 14, 2024. Rizwan Ahmed was riding his motorcycle along Al Khalidiyah Street. The accident was attributed to his negligence, lack of adequate precautions, and failure to maintain a safe distance between vehicles. His motorcycle collided with a Kia car driven by a Sudanese national, which was travelling in front of him on the same lane.
Rizwan suffered severe leg injuries in the collision. He was subsequently admitted to Al Qassimi Hospital for treatment. During the criminal case proceedings, Rizwan was also fined 1000 dirhams for his negligence.
Following the incident, a compensation claim was filed under the guidance of YAB Legal Services CEO Salam Pappinissery. The court, after reviewing the case, ordered the insurance company to pay 24,000 dirhams in compensation.
