Sharjah: Mustafa Mohamed Nabih Ehasino, a Syrian national, has been awarded AED 100,000 (approximately 30 Crore Syrian Pounds) in compensation after sustaining injuries in a car accident on October 26, 2024, in Sharjah's Industrial Area 3.

The incident occurred in the sandy area of Industrial Area 3, Sharjah, when a vehicle driven recklessly by an Iraqi national struck Mustafa, who was walking. Following the collision, Mustafa, who suffered a severe leg injury, was rushed to Kuwait Hospital by National Ambulance.

A subsequent police investigation led to a criminal case being registered against the Iraqi driver. The court penalized the driver with a fine of AED 5,000 and a 3-month license suspension.

Mustafa's relatives approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services (yab legal services), to pursue a compensation claim. Under his leadership, the case was registered with the court, naming the insurance company of the at-fault vehicle as the opposing party.

The claim was supported by essential documents, including a medical certificate detailing the severity of Mustafa's injuries and the criminal case judgment.

Court Ruling

After reviewing the arguments and evidence presented, the court upheld Mustafa's claim.

The court ruled that the insurance company of the vehicle responsible for the accident must pay Mustafa AED 100,000 as compensation. Furthermore, the court ordered the insurance company to pay 5% interest on the awarded amount from the date of the judgment until the full amount is settled.
