On December 5, 2022, Girija was crossing the road in Ras Al Khaimah when she was hit by a vehicle driven by an Emirati national. The court found that the accident occurred due to the driver who caused the accident driving without taking precautions and released her after paying a fine of 3000 dirhams.

Girija's 'mother', who was seriously injured in the car accident, approached YAB LEGAL SERVICES - CEO Salam Pappinissery for compensation. Later, through his intervention, a case was registered against a leading insurance company in the UAE by submitting medical reports, police reports and insurance documents before the Insurance Authority. In that case, the Insurance Authority asked the insurance company to pay one million dirhams in compensation.

However, according to the documents submitted, the insurance company submitted a memorandum stating that Bija did not suffer any significant injuries and that the amount awarded was excessive and that it should be reduced, but the argument was completely rejected due to lack of evidence.

Finally, the court ordered the insurance company to pay Girija one million UAE dirhams (3 crore 77 lakh Nepalese rupees) based on the medical report submitted by the lawyer from Yab Legal Services and the proven injuries.
