On July 3, 2021, a Pakistani national, Muhammad Bilal, who was riding a bike in the Rashidiya area of Dubai, was hit by a car driven by a Kenyan national. The accident destroyed the public property of the nearby Dubai Municipality, completely destroyed the bike, and Bilal, who was injured, was immediately treated at the Dubai Rashid Hospital.

The criminal court found that Bilal, who was driving in compliance with traffic laws, was driving under the influence of alcohol and at high speed, and imposed a fine of 20,000 dirhams on the defendant and suspended his license for six months.

Bilal, who was undergoing treatment for a serious injury to a blood vessel in his skull, approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services, to seek compensation.

Bilal's lawyer filed a petition in the insurance court and argued that there was no violation of the law or any wrongdoing on the part of his client and that compensation should be granted to his client, who is undergoing treatment, as soon as possible. The court immediately considered the case and awarded two hundred thousand dirhams (1.5 crore Pakistani rupees) as compensation.
