Compensation of Two lakh eighty thousand dirhams to a Pakistani national who was injured in a car accident in Dubai.
The court has ordered compensation of two crore eleven lakh sixty-eight thousand Pakistani rupees (2 lakh eighty thousand dirhams) to Muhammad Abdurrahman Shakeelurrahman (26), a Pakistani national who was injured in a car accident in Dubai, through the intervention of YAB LEGAL SERVICES CEO Salam Pappinissery.

On May 21, 2022, at 4:30 PM, an Emirati woman drove her car at a red light within the limits of Rashidiya Police Station in Dubai, causing it to hit the vehicle driven by Abdulrahman. The accident occurred on Marrakesh Street towards Festival City in Qusais. Abdulrahman, who was seriously injured in the accident, was immediately admitted to the hospital. The Dubai Criminal Court found that the Emirati woman, who was accused of driving without paying attention to the signal, was guilty and ordered to pay a fine of 2000 dirhams.
Abdulrahman, who suffered serious injuries to his left shoulder, neck and left eye, approached YAB LEGAL SERVICES CEO Salam Pappinissery to seek compensation. He examined the details of the case and initiated legal proceedings to obtain compensation.
He registered a compensation case with the Insurance Authority against the insurance company of the vehicle that caused the accident and submitted the necessary documents. After examining the documents, the court awarded Abdurrahman one hundred and eighty thousand dirhams as compensation. However, realizing that this amount was not enough for Abdurrahman, who had suffered serious injuries, Abdurrahman's lawyer registered a case with the Dubai Civil Court and requested that the compensation amount be increased. The civil court, after examining the submitted documents such as medical certificates, criminal case judgments, and memorandums, increased the compensation amount to two hundred and eighty thousand dirhams. Although the insurance company filed an appeal case, claiming that this award was excessive, the appeal court did not consider the case because Abdur Rahman's advocate had submitted a proper reply memorandum.
