The accident occurred on July 17, 2018, in Al Ain, Emirate of Abu Dhabi, when two vehicles traveling in the same direction collided on a two-lane road. When they reached the junction, the vehicle in front driven by Salima was turning left and overtook the vehicle behind from a place where overtaking was not allowed, resulting in a collision.

The court found that the cause of the accident was the negligence of the driver of the vehicle behind and fined him Dh3,000 and released him.

However, Salima, who suffered serious injuries to her spine and other parts of her body, had to stay in Tawam Hospital in Al Ain for more than twenty days. She did not receive any compensation for the car accident. That is how YAB LEGAL SERVICES CEO O Salam Pappinissery contacted and assigned the case to her.

The compensation case was registered by submitting the necessary documents, including the criminal case judgment and medical report, and making the insurance company of the vehicle that caused the accident the opposing party. After examining the documents submitted, the Insurance Authority considered the case and awarded two hundred thousand dirhams as compensation to Salima. However, the insurance company approached the Dubai Civil Court, arguing that Salima's injuries were minor and the amount awarded was excessive. However, since Salima's lawyer submitted a reply memorandum with proper documents, the case was dismissed and the compensation was awarded only two hundred thousand dirhams.
