Telangana Man Gets AED 30,000 Compensation for Accident Injuries

DUBAI: A man from Telangana, India, Vamshi Muthenna Abbani, has been awarded a compensation of AED 30,000 (approximately ₹7,17,000) by a Dubai court after he was injured in a traffic accident. The compensation was secured through the intervention of YAB Legal Services CEO Salam Pappinissery, despite Vamshi being at fault for the accident.
The incident occurred on February 23, 2024, in the Al Quoz Industrial Area of Dubai. Vamshi, who was riding a motorcycle, entered the road without ensuring it was safe, causing him to collide with a Nissan Tiida car driven by a Pakistani national who was traveling in the correct lane. Vamshi sustained a serious leg injury and was admitted to NMC Jebel Ali Hospital.
Since Vamshi was the one at fault, a criminal case was initially filed against him. However, the criminal court later dismissed the case, concluding that it lacked significant importance.
Initially, it was believed that Vamshi would not receive any compensation as he was at fault. It was at this point that he contacted YAB Legal Services. Under the guidance of Salam Pappinissery, a compensation case was filed against Vamshi’s motorcycle insurance company. Necessary documents, including a copy of the accident report, forensic medical report, and payment receipts, were submitted to the court.
After reviewing the documents, the court ordered the insurance company to pay Vamshi AED 30,000 in compensation. The court also ruled that the company must pay 5% interest on the amount from the date of the judgment until the full amount is settled, along with AED 3,850 to cover the medical test expenses incurred for the case.
