Dubai: The body of Kollam native Soma Raj (36), who died of COVID-19, was cremated at the Jebel Ali Cemetery in Dubai. He died on April 28 while undergoing treatment at the Saudi German Hospital in Al Barsha. Later, his close relative Subu Mon approached Salam Pappinissery, a legal representative and social activist in the UAE, for further proceedings. He then created a WhatsApp group with prominent figures in the UAE such as Indian Association Sharjah President EP Johnson, Ashraf Thamarassery, Adv. Sheela and through it, he prepared the necessary arrangements for legal proceedings while maintaining distance.
