On November 9, 2017, a Pakistani national lost control of his car while turning right at a roundabout near Dubai Investment Park and crashed into nearby iron barriers and electric poles. Idris Kasim, a Bangladeshi national, was seriously injured in the accident and died at the scene. The police, which investigated the cause of the accident, filed an FIR and referred the case to the court. The court, which considered the case, sentenced the accused Pakistani national to 4 months in prison, a fine of 10,000 dirhams and a compensation of 200,000 dirhams to the family of the deceased Idris.

The sudden demise of Idris, who was the sole breadwinner of his family consisting of his wife and four children, brought tears to the eyes of the family. In this situation, the family approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services in the UAE, for compensation. In addition to the compensation, the insurance company approached the insurance court under his leadership, making the insurance company the opposing party. The court, understanding the family's needs, awarded two hundred thousand dirhams as compensation. However, the insurance company approached the civil and appeal courts, showing that the amount granted was higher and that the compensation for the deceased had been awarded by the criminal court, but the court rejected it. Thus, the Dubai court ordered the family of the deceased Idris to pay 400,000 dirhams (1.19 crore Bangladeshi Dhaka) in compensation.
