Sharjah: Global Pravasi Association Chairman Salam Pappinissery has sent a memorandum to Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Minister of State V. Muraleedharan, urging the central government to expedite the necessary steps to include more countries, including the UAE and Kuwait, in the list of countries included in the central government's revised travel policy that exempts foreign travelers who have received two doses of the Covid vaccine from RT-PCR testing and seven-day quarantine in the country.

He responded in the memorandum that the central government's stance of excluding countries like the UAE and Kuwait from the relaxations given to other countries has led to a large-scale protest among Indians, including Malayalis, in both countries, and that not including the UAE and Kuwait in the green list is discrimination against expatriates, given that most residents of both countries have received the vaccine and the spread of Covid has been brought under control. Salam Pappinissery also expressed hope that the central government would consider this legitimate demand of the expatriates.
