Dubai, UAE - A Dubai court has ruled in favor of Ukrainian national Svitlana Shyshyova, who was injured in a traffic accident in Jumeirah in March 2024, awarding her AED 150,000 (approximately 1.7 million Ukrainian hryvnia) in compensation. This outcome was achieved through the intervention of Salam Pappinisseri, CEO of Yab Legal Services.

The incident occurred on March 22, 2024, when Ms. Shyshyova was crossing a pedestrian crosswalk in Jumeirah, Dubai. A vehicle driven by a Portuguese national struck her, resulting in severe injuries to her leg. Investigations revealed that the accident was caused by the driver's negligence and failure to adhere to traffic regulations.

The Traffic Criminal Court had previously found the driver at fault, imposing a fine of AED 5,000 and a three-month suspension of his driving license. However, Ms. Shyshyova had not received any compensation for her injuries. Subsequently, she sought the assistance of Yab Legal Services and entrusted her case to their CEO, Salam Pappinisseri.

Under Mr. Pappinisseri's guidance, the legal team at Yab Legal Services registered a compensation claim and submitted the necessary documentation to the court. After reviewing the case, the Dubai court delivered a verdict ordering the responsible party to pay Ms. Shyshyova AED 150,000 in damages.
